The Forum

To get to The Forum go to the menu [1] on the left hand side of your screen. Hover over "The Chatterbox" [2] so it expands the menu, to the right there will pop out a sub-menu with the categories "The Blog", "The Forum, The Chat". Click to get to the Forum, hover for it to expand and go to The Forum Poll [3].

The different Forums.

There are 5 separate forums, "rooms" if you like. They are called;
  • News - here we will write any Community news we may have. It could be new features, technical problems/solutions etc.
  • The Dom Lounge - quite self explanatory, it's a room where Dominants can get together and discuss and socialize. Please do note that it is Dominants ONLY! If a sub would like to be in contact with a Dom (please note this is not a dating site) i suggest to do so in the "Ask a Question" forum that is open for all, or in the chat.
  • The submissive Corner - same as above, only for submissives.
  • Ask a Question - how often do we not wonder "what does Dominants think about this?", "how would a Dominant handle this?" or "how would you as a submissive react to...". Whatever the question may be, here is the place to ask it. The more users there are the more perspectives and opinions there will be. I'm sure someone will answer you!
  • Off-Topic - here you can post anything that is off-topic. So anything that isn't related to ttwd. You can start games, debates, discussions, anything you like.

Participating in The Forum

To become a member of The Forum you just have to sign in. You can do this by clicking on the "Login or Sign up" button [1]. Clicking that will lead you to a pop-up window [2]. There you can choose which account to use to sign up for the Forum.You can sign up using your account from Yahoo!, Blogger, Google, Twitter, Facebook, and many others. Note your username will be the name registered to that account, so for example if i log in with Blogger my name will be that of my blog username, i e newtothislife07-mysubmissivejourney. Facebook will show the name of your account, so if this is a vanilla account be aware that it will give access to that. Once you have signed up you can login at the same place or use the link at the top right corner.

Getting started.

Who can do What?

Anyone can post in any topic  and anyone can start a topic in any of the 5 rooms. 
~ please note that the respective Dominant/submissive rooms are still only for that group. I unfortunately can't lock them so please respect this! It's there for everyone to feel comfortable to speak freely ~
To make a post in an existing room click on the topic title, for example "Technical stuff regarding forum" (the existing room being "News")

Posting, replying, sticky notes and moderation.

After you have clicked on the topic name the picture should now look like this. What you see here is the topic starter's first post and then following that there are replies. The reply box can be seen at the bottom of the picture to the left.
Underneath the Reply box you will find a check-box that says Subscribe, check this box if you want to get comment notifications by mail.



So that is how you reply to an existing topic in an existing room (in this case the topic is "technical stuff regarding forum" in the "News" room.)
At the top of the above picture you can see a button called "Start a Topic", click this and this will appear
Once your post is written you can decide whether or not to make it a sticky (read column to the right of this text), if it should be open for commenting (please do so) and again whether to subscribe to comments or not.
You also need to choose a Category, this means in which forum room you think it belongs. So if I was to start a topic about ways to keep a submissive mindset i would choose the category The submissive Corner, if i wanted only submissives to participate, or i could pose it as an open question and post it under the "Ask a Question" category.

Once all of the above is done you just click that little button that says Post Topic. 
Now all you have to do is Title your topic and then write your post.

So what is a Sticky?

A sticky is what you see in the top picture. All it basically mean is that you've "pinned it" so that it is always there to be seen. Stickies are not there to promote your topic it is used for announcements etc. Don't worry though, if yo "sticky" something that shouldn't be the Admin can -and will- easily fix it.

Moderation

Now, i expect everyone to behave themselves, and i think most people do. But we all know about trolls and well, just rude people in general, don't we? Therefore there will be moderators in the forum. These are not police and are not here to do anything more than to keep order (ok so maybe a little policey *lol*) and to make sure that everything ends up in the correct place, for instance if someone has posted a topic about Pet Play under the Off-topic category (ok it's play but still ;)), the moderator would then move it to it's appropriate place.
I will, hopefully, be looking for moderators in the future, if it's something you think you'd like to do then please contact me.
